I suspect the power of suggestion here. I can't image that touching an aluminum object would generate a truly metallic taste otherwise.

Usually strong metallic taste caused by gum disease induced bleeding. I've never heard of touching metal causing metallic taste. Please see your Dentist or a Periodontist to evaluate for gum disease. If cleared, next step would be to see your Physician or an Internist.
