Yes, dry eye in one eye only is possible. See an eye MD specialist, not an optometrist. Establish the cause of the dry eye to guide treatment. Since Systane drops help but are insufficient, you may need a punctum plug which blocks the lower drain that drains tears off the surface of the eye. That will keep both the tears you make and the artificial tears you add longer on the surface of your eye.
