It sounds like you have chronic bronchitis. If you are a smoker, by far the most important way to deal with this is to stop smoking. Either way, this needs in-person medical evaluation and perhaps treatment. See a doctor. Good luck.

A secondary bacterial infection or COVID 19 pneumonia should be ruled out. Keep well hydrated, rest and monitor breathing. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and then see the Emergency room if this occurs.Discuss a flu vaccination and chest image with your physician. The course may be variable and it may take weeks to recover.
