That dose can accelerate your heart rate but it is usually a nuisance rather than anything serious. It may also impair your night's sleep. I tell my patients to take a benadryl capsule at bedtime to help them sleep. Avoiding caffeine, chocolate and alcohol is helpful. Notify your prescribing physician if you're unable to tolerate the medication. It's safe to stop.
