Your doctor doesn't want to hurt you. (S)he wants to help you. ALL meds have side effects. Your doc weighs your disorder, the good the med can do, and any possible side effects, before prescribing. If you have concerns, discuss them with physician.

It should not hurt you. Short duration corticosteroid treatment does not normally require a taper as long term treatment does. Please avoid Covid exposure while on Prednisone and shortly thereafter because people who catch Covid while on Prednisone tend to get much sicker due to the immunosuppression. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs11606-021-07152-2
