A member asked:

Can loss of gastric juices cause an irritable stomach which produces high hcl..and can even go to the level of pulling hcl from blood and cause alkalosis making the ph of blood beyond normal alkaline range?

Your question is not clearly stated but I think I can guess. Your gastric juice is highly acidic (HCl) so if you vomit a lot you will lose a lot of chloride (an anion) in your blood. Kidneys will compensate this loss by retaining the bicarbonate (also an anion) and that will make your blood alkaline. Your blood test will then show low chloride and high bicarbonate. This has nothing to do with GERD

No. What you are describing is internally inconsistent. If you have any symptoms, it would be useful for you to list those. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Wish you good health!
