Hi doctors. are there any newer treatments for sleep apnea that do not require that bulky cpap machine? i am a side sleeper but i start off as a back sleeper, and i am extremely concerned about maneuvering and quite possibly breaking the cpap machine?

Cpap is the best treatment for sleep apnea. If your sleep apnea is positional then best option is sleep apnea machine with auto titrate feature.

Hello, it depends on the severity of the number of apneas and mini apnea’s or hypopneas/hour. The greater the number, the worse the sleep apnea. Mild to moderate are candidates for a dental device that positions your jaw and tongue farther from the back of your throat. Severe needs Cpap or surgery. A new treatment called Inspire is now an option too. Talk to your sleep physician for the options.
