A member asked:

My 29 yr. daughter has been told there is at tumor in her pituritary gland. how hard is this to take care of?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends in type/size: Mostly these are characterized as either functional (makes pituitary hormones that can affect adversely the endocrine system in the rest of your body) or non functional. If it is functional then medications can resolve the symptoms and even shut down the tumor. If it is big enough be it functional or nonfunctional, then it can start to push on nerves and brain and needs removal or radiation.
