Pituitary tumors: These tumors are generally slow growing and rarely are malignant. As such it is not uncommon to them to be observed without treatment for a period of time. Often, an MRI is done 3-6 months after the initial diagnosis, and then every 6-12 months thereafter. It is always appropriate to discuss concerns about observation with a doctor.
