Ask your MD: We are entering an era of primary care being in charge. You need a primary doctor who will evaluate you fully and decide whether further evaluation is necessary. He may decide that a consultation with a neurologist would be the best thing, but may decide that it is not necessary. You need to have faith in your doctor that he will decide correctly.

Possibly: New onset seizures need to be investigated to find a possible cause. Aside from blood tests, patients with new onset seizures may require brain imaging studies and an eeg. Having a neurologist involved sounds reasonable.
