Did you drain the retaining balloon before you pulled it out? Catheters have a side port to fill and drain the balloon. Alternately, one can cut the catheter across the tube, and the balloon will drain so that you can remove it safely. See your Dr right away. You may have urosepsis, an infection of the blood that begins in the bladder because of retained urine.

You likely have a bladder infection from what I assume is improper removal of a catheter. See another doctor whom you can trust for further evaluation and treatment, soon, particularly if you have a fever.

You should have been given written and verbal instructions about the catheter. Call the person who put the catheter in to be seen that day or see another doctor ASAP.
