Whats an easy way to tell if a lymph node is movable or not?

The word itself is the answer: can you slide the bump over the tissues below it, or is it difficult to move around? But this really doesn't matter very much. In theory, fixed nodes are more likely serious than movable ones. However, at age 16 almost any node you can feel is very unlikely to be serious, whether movable or not. Stop worrying and stop examining yourself: see a doctor!

Moveable or not you need to do the following - You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!
