A member asked:

My mom age 55 years, have ana test positive. primary dilution(1:80) end point titre (1:80). primary intensity on if is 1+ and . ana pattern speckled. is she suffering from some serious disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, and ANA at 1:80 in a 55 year old person is not a cause for concern per se. If she does not have any symptoms, it would be okay to watch and wait. Wish you good health!
