If the triglycerides are greater than 500, acute pancreatitis becomes a risk. With good blood sugar control, the triglycerides will most often decrease. But, if the triglyceride level is greater than 500, medicine should be given to decrease the triglycerides-astatine is often given along with blood sugar and diet control. Best of luck to you!

The Triglycerides are high in patients with uncontrolled Diabetes. Treatment is necessary for Triglyceride over 500. Because that high triglyceride is cause for Pancreatitis. Usual treatment is Fenofibrate until diabetes is controlled.
