I doubt that a throat infection can trigger TMJ problem, especially you were also taking Medrol pak. I wonder why your doctor decided to use steroid besides antibiotic for a throat infection. With the symptoms you described, it's worth to see your doctor again. In the meantime, you can take Ibuprofen (OTC) 200 mg x 2 tablets q 6 hours, prn for pain if you do not have stomach or kidney problem.

TMJ is the Temporal Mandibular Joint. The proper term you are describing is TMD (Dysfunction) or pain in the jaw joint(s). It is unlikely that the medications are causing you pain but possibly you are clenching & grinding due to the inflammation in your throat. You may have a separate dental issue & need evaluation by a dentist skilled in treating TMD. A night guard or similar appliance can help.
