While Azithromycin does cause increased blood levels of some of the older anticoagulants like coumadin (warfarin), it does not have any significant interaction with Eliquis, and the combination of Eliquis with Azithromycin is safe. This combination Eliquis/Azithromycin) scores a B (no action needed) on the Lexicomp® Drug Interactions scale.

I am not aware of any interaction between Eliquis and Azithromycin, but if there is any question another antibiotic without reports of interaction should be chosen. The reason to use Azithromycin should also b confirmed with your doctor.
