I am a 45 year old female for the past 2 years i have totally lost my sex drive. i am pretty sure i am peri menopausal because my periods have become unpredictable and may skip a month and last longer than 5 days?

"Perimenopause" is accompanied by irregular bleeding (most non-ovulatory and heavy at times) caused by higher estrogen levels from increased ovarian stimulation. During this unpredictable time in a woman's hormonal life, it may be appropriate for oral bcps to stop ovarian production of estrogen. Sex drive loss, however, can be due to psycho-social factors, not just hormonal.
