Maybe: Average age at which women undergo menopause is 51yo. During the few years or so prior to menopause, what we refer to as perimenopause, women may experience hot flashes & night sweats (power surges!) and irregular menses. Hot flashes & night sweats can be treated w/hormones if they're bad enough but it's not w/o controversy. Menopause is declared after no menses for a year but symptoms may continu.

No: Menopause is when you have not had a period for 12 months naturally. Missing two months is probably the sign for perimenopause. The time before menopause when women can begin to experience irregular bleeding, mood swings, hot flashes, fatigue, irritability. This can last 1-6 years and then menopause comes. Treatment varies depending on symptoms.
