Irregular periods: Irregular periods are usually a sign of absence of an ovulatory cycle if pregnancy and related problems have been ruled out by a quantitative HCG blood test. You would initially need to keep a menstrual calendar to see the trend of your periods. If its confirmed that the irregularity is persistent you would need a hormone panel , a sonogram and a uterine biopsy.

Not unusual: Some women will skip periods due to stress, or many other causes. It is also potentially due to pregnancy. You should take a test. If it is negative, then see if you have one this month. If not, see your physician.
