On propranolol la 80mg for years. on it for benign tremors, migraines, pvcs & ^bp. urticaria lately & dr thinks may be from propranolol. he wants me to take cardizem la 120mg instead. he said no need to wean off propranolol just start cardizem. ok?

Unless your heart rate or blood pressure are super low from the propranolol I think you could do as directed by your prescribing physician. I have had patients do that very switch without incident.

Unusual to develop urticaria after having used it for"years". While Cardizem may be a reasonable replacement, I am hesitant to recommend switching without tapering first. If your blood pressure is under reasonable control, it may be reasonable to taper rapidly. Good luck.
