A member asked:

24m with two occasions of ventricular standstill a couple months apart. one at 3.4 seconds, other at 4.4 seconds. asymptotic during both. no blackouts. both occurred during watching tv/playing xbox. could this be an overactive/ senstaive vagus nerve?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I assume you had an Holter monitor which demonstrated ventricular standstill where sinus node activity occurred but no ventricular contraction followed. This represents a high degree of AV block &is a dangerous arrhythmia which can cause fainting. It can be caused by exaggerated vagal tone. You may be a candidate for a permanent pacemaker. You should be evaluated by a cardiologist electrophysiolog
