Many clinicians advocate sleeping on your left side for benefits on heart function and blood pressure. I'm unsure of all the scientific proof, however.

On the side to allow for healing as pressure and friction on the wound may delay healing. You should have received written recommendations following procedure that may include clear instructions as well as to how to take care of the wound.
