In theory it might, but the mucus would then have to be injected into the bloodstream or introduced into the vagina or other body cavity in large amount, otherwise HIV would not be transmitted. Avoid unprotected sex with potentially infected and sharing drug injection equipment with other persons: that's all you need to do to avoid HIV infection.
