It is not feasible to make a diagnosis of amyloidosis without a tissue biopsy. Your doctor can test your blood for abnormal immunoglobulins and may be a fat pad aspiration to look for amyloid. A bone marrow examination and other tissue biopsy may also be needed to rule out amyloidosis and immunoglobulin disorder. Your concern is well placed, but you are young for this disease.
