Pain (predominantly in the right upper quadrant), fever and chill (rigor), sometimes nausea and vomiting are the main symptoms of acute, ascending cholangitis due to obstructed common bile duct. Fever alone could be a symptom of many infectious disease.

In a routine checkup which also included an ultrasound, I've been diagnosed with a silent asymptomatic CBD stone but I've no abdominal pain, no acute cholangitis and no other symptoms. Is it possible to have an asymptomatic CBD stone?
