As in any transition from prescription medication to more natural substances, I would recommend you work closely with your doctor. Prescription antidepressants like sertraline usually needs to be slowly tapered before considering a substitute medication or medications. If this is not done, you can experience some very uncomfortable side effects as your body withdraws from the medication.

Agree with Dr. Ellis. It is not a do it yourself matter. You need to consult with the doctor who prescribed the medication for a safe way to reduce the dose. Keep in mind that the so called "natural" treatment may not be effective. Wish you good health!
