A member asked:

Why is cancer transferrable through organ transplant but not through blood transfusions from a cancer patient to a healthy person ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Organ transplant individuals are given strong immunosuppressants to avoid rejection of the transplanted organ. The same immunosuppressants that prevent organ rejection also impair the person's ability to reject cancers. Blood transfusion is not accompanied by immunosuppressant treatment.
