A member asked:

What would this be a sign of? "oval, circumscribed, hypoechoic mass in the right hemineck without fatty hilum, measuring 25 x 12 x 11 mm" i am scheduled for a neck ct in the next few weeks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I like to review these findings with the radiologist &get more input. I assume there is no involvement of the thyroid gland. This noncystic neck mass without a hilum may or may not be a malignant lymph node. A cystic mass without a hilum is much more suspicious. I recommend consulting a head and neck surgeon to help guide you through the workup and go over the upcoming ct scan findings.
