I got a quick pin sensation on my lip for a second, thought it was from my mustache, two days later my lip started to swell due to a cold sore. i kissed my girlfriend right before the pin ,will she be ok? can anything be done to protect her?

“Quick pin sensation” sounds for like an insect bite rather than herpes. Herpes simplex usually comes up over many hours to 1-2 days. I guess you can protect her by sharing an insect repellent. If herpes, likelihood of transmission from any one episode is so low the preventative meds are just not worth it. It’s the REPETITIVE kissing over days/weeks/months that is more an issue
