No. Certain percentage of nails surgery that kills the cell matrix of the root cells fails and the nail will grow back. I would not remove it unless it gave you trouble again.

If you are infected again you should be seen by the Doctor that removed the nail edge sometimes the nail edge becomes clogged and simple has to be cleared.
