Im trying to identify a medication. i quit smoking a while ago, but a long time back i had a serious cough. the label is all scratched off. i was prescribed a cough medicine. its yellow and gritty but watery with invisible grits. what is it?

It's outdated. Don't take it. Sounds like it is breaking down. See your GP or Urgent care for information as to which of the oh so many cough medicines (Rx and OTC) would be appropriate.
