Consider an urgent care or ER as you may have strep and would need antibiotics or may have an issue with you salivary glands or may be the result of reflux, allergies but if not lubricated can get infected. . Would follow up today in ER/ urgent care.

Any ideas why a healthy 48yo male would have a thumbnail-sized red patch on tip of tongue for about 2 months? The only symptoms - burning feeling in the mouth and smooth papilae at the tip. Candida test came back negative and no sores are present?
