Over time, it is hard to avoid herpes I or II, and accidental transmission from mouth to hand to genitals is common. This type of pain can be herpes, so ask your gyn physician for an exam and a IgG/IgM test for herpes antibodies. Unfortunately, outbreaks are more frequent with stress (emotional, work, school, etc.).
