I'm not sexually active. today, my periods are 5 days late. yesterday, i saw a light orange-red spot on toilet paper but i saw nothing else since then. what could be the cause? could it mean that they will come soon?

Late period ? : If your periods have been regular (24-32 days apart) , and "not sexually active" means only vaginal intercourse or even external exposure to semen has not occurred, your period may be "late" due to delays in ovulation (stress, anxiety, etc.) which will delay onset of bleeding. If pregnancy is possible, wait another week and obtain a serum HCG test to be certain.
