People are immune (or at least highly resistant) to new infection, anywhere on the body, with the HSV type they already have. Therefore, couples both infected with HSV2 (or HSV1) never "ping pong" the infection back and forth. It makes sense to avoid sex during visible outbreaks, to avoid irritating the lesions. But neither of you is at risk for oral infection by performing oral sex on each other.
