I've used Afrin (oxymetazoline) in the past for quick relief "temporarily".... however, I do need to warn you that within a few days if used often, you will start to develop a rebound congestion. It has a danger of being almost addicting for this reason. An inhaled nasal steroid such as flonase (Fluticasone), or Rhinocort (budesonide) can be very helpful... it does take a little time to kick in.
