Because of the significant changes in female hormones during pregnancy, there should be no monthly cramps or bleeding. If you are experiencing some cramping at week 12-13, talk to your OB. They will typically check the baby with Ultrasound and make sure everything is OK. They may recommend bed rest or less activity, especially if the cramps are accompanied by bleeding.
