Lymph nodes are collecting areas within the lymphatic system for all manner of immune cells and antibodies. If there is a malignancy or infection, the lymph nodes nearest the site will become inflamed. If the infection is extensive or there is a malignancy, there may be involvement of further away lymph nodes. Have it checked by a Dr if it lasts longer than 1 month.
