Taking melatonin can be helpful as sleep deprivation is associated with arrhythmio genicity. On the other hand, melatonin intake can cause premature ventricular contractions, self limited but can cause cardiomyopathy and sudden cardiac death. Try taking almonds handful Pistachio handful Chamomile tea. Warm milk See if you can sleep with these remedies. Hope it helps.

Depends on how low your heart rate is and what the doctor attributes it to. It is not uncommon for the heart rate to be slower than usual in active and well conditioned individuals. Please talk to your doctor and make sure that melatonin will not be of concern in the individual. It is foolish for a physician not familiar with the patient to provide reassurances.
