Fat shaming in adolescence will only lead to emotional problems. Avoid this. Instead, provide opportunities and encourage outdoor athletic pursuits and friendships which will reinforce a healthy body weight. Provide healthy meals high in fresh fruits/vegetables and low in fat. Limit opportunities for high calorie dessert and sweets.

Early adolescence is a tricky time regarding body image, especially if she is "in good shape." You will want to engage your child to see if she has concerns about her diet. Meanwhile. please do not purchase unhealthy foods! Ask her for input as to what she wants for breakfast, lunch, dinner. If she has healthy meals, she is less likely to snack because she avoided breakfast or lunch.
