Berloque Dermatitis is caused by the reaction of UVA light on skin that has been exposed to bergapten (5-methoxypsoralens)(found in citrus fruits, lemons, limes, parsnips, celery, carrots, and perfumes/lotions containing bergamot oil.) The reaction can be evoked in all persons as long as the concentration of the chemical/ dose of light are sufficient. Wash to avoid these chemicals on your skin.
