Sounds like reflux: Acid reflux occurs when stomach contents slosh up into the esophagus. Because the stomach contents are so acidic, and because the lining of the esophagus is less protective than the stomach lining, reflux can be painful. It can also cause cough, wheezing, or a scratchy throat. It's not uncommon for people who are having reflux to feel they are having heart pain, hence "heartburn." it's treatable!
