Provigil is indicated for a variety of sleep disorders, especially narcolepsy. It is not an opioid or an amphetamine, and is relatively safe and effective. However, it has a relatively short half-life. Other newer medications may be chosen if indeed you have a true sleep disorder. Agree that a virtual consultation on HT could clarify your current needs.
