Many headphones provide amplification as well as cancel out background noise so you are hearing the sounds louder and without any background noise. If this helps you to hear, you should see an audiologist and have your hearing tested. You may benefit from hearing aides, which would be even better than the headphones! Best of luck to you!

I can hear sound very well but I find it difficult to actually understand what is being said. I have to watch a person's lips to understand them.
For about 4 days now, when i go to bed, I hear a distinct clicking sound in my right ear. I have to turn my head or sleep on my right side to not hear it. At times it even wakes me up. The clock is like I'm sleeping next to a watch.
