I am getting over viral syndrome after 5 days. no fever all day yesterday and felt pretty much better. but mid morning and this morning my shirt was still lightly sweaty when i woke up. is the infection still being flushed?

This is difficult to be sure. In general when the fever is gone the reproductive activity of the virus has subsided but live virus may shed for days or weeks depending on the areas involved. Some gut viruses are still detected up to 6 wks after an infection has cleared. Most consider spread of live virus unlikely in oral/airway secretions by 48 hrs after the fever is gone.
