Unlikely with most : Back problems treated non operatively with improvement usually within several weeks and even if it was do to a disc herniation, most get better within 12 weeks with only 10% needing a surgical solution. If the pain persists, worsens or is associated with any numbness, weakness or problems going to the bathroom , see your physician for appropriate care.

Back pain in RA: Make sure you haven't had a compression fracture. Get xrays. You are immunocompromised from RA meds, and in a different category from usual patients of your age. Also, usual back pain doesn't cause you to pass out. You need a physician to evaluate this with xrays at the very least, and further studies based upon exam and findings.
