I have heard that by having anal sex you increase your chances of anal cancer even when hpv, hiv and generally we are sti negative. does anyone know why and if it is true ?

While it is true that people who have anal sex are at higher risk of Anal Cancer, the cause is not known. Healthy anal cells grow and multiply at a set rate, eventually dying at a set time. Any stress, exposure to trauma or chemicals in stool, can cause these healthy cells to mutate and grow abnormally. This is very rare.
