Anal fissures and hemorrhoids are painful. Aspercreme Lidocaine can numb the area for a couple of hours at best. Aquaphor will just keep the area moist. Depending on the cause, you need to change your habits. If constipation caused this, you need to focus on eating a diet high in fiber rich fruits/vegetables and low in high fat foods and drink lots of water.

Aquaphor can help heal a fissure by protecting the area from the trauma of hard stools. It is safe to apply inside the anal area. It will not treat hemorrhoids but may aid in the healing process by again protecting the area. Please work on the constipation if that is part of the problem (it often is); increase your dietary fiber and fluids. Contact your doctor if not improving.
