Hemorrhoids: It is very rare that surgery is ever offered for hemorrhoids anymore. Surgery can lead to a life time of hemorrhoidal troubles. One usually uses stool softening and steroid creams to shrink the hemorrhoid before surgery is considered.

Needs exam: If severe pain, may require removing the clot. If soft, ointment may ease the discomfort and size. Needs physician evaluation.
