my husband has a hemorrhoid sticking out of his anus, can he take medications to treat or should he opt for a surgical treatment to get rid of it?

Hemorrhoids: It is very rare that surgery is ever offered for hemorrhoids anymore. Surgery can lead to a life time of hemorrhoidal troubles. One usually uses stool softening and steroid creams to shrink the hemorrhoid before surgery is considered.
