I do not know what you mean by "huge palpitations". I am not aware of an arrhythmia that occurs when a person is falling asleep.
The only way to get confirmation of the "arrhythmia" and determine what type it is, is to undergo ambulatory rhythm monitoring.
I would urge you to see your doctor and follow his/her advice.
